Statement of
Intent
Audience:
My intended
audience for this product is young adults and adults from the range of 16-25.
My topics are extremely varied like most popular magazines so that a wider
audience is reached. Stories that cover forms of entertainment such as concerts
are tailored for those that would have interest in such things so mainly older
teenagers around the age of 18 and people who enjoy lively events or going out
in general. Their style would be more extravagant such as higher end brands or
unusual yet trendy styles that stand out and their music taste would most
likely be more recent pop music much like that of the opposite audience. My
gaming stories are aimed more towards boys that enjoy staying in and playing on
their consoles. This is so that I can reach the opposite styles of people.
Their lives would be based on social media so I would like to cover topics that
link to media platforms. Young adults have interests in celebrities so I could
cover celebrities that are loved by the younger generation such as singers or
footballers.
Representation:
The people
who would read my magazines range from adventurous people who enjoy going out
to busy events or those who prefer to stay in. I want to cover a large number
of stories so that I create an unbiased varied magazine. Each topic will have
multiple stories that tailor to outgoing people or more laid back people.
Industry /
Institution:
My magazine
will be loosely based off of entertainment weekly that covers a wide range of
stories however unlike their style, mine will contain more stories on the front
page as most magazines need to advertise their contents whereas entertainment
weekly is well known enough to not need to cover a wide range of topics on the
front cover. As my audience is the younger generation, I will incorporate
different social platforms as their lives revolve around social media.
Media
Language:
My colour
scheme for my front covers and contents pages will be bold yet will not clash.
I will take inspiration from various magazines to find fonts and layouts that I
believe attract audiences
